During the summer season, we give our visitors a unique experience to attend the daily feeding and demonstrations of marine biology or chemistry.
Fort Verudela
The fort Verudela is part of the Austrohungarian defense system of the town Pula, which is the culmination of European fortification architecture of 19th century. Verudela is a coastal fortress, and it is one of 55 defensive structures, which are used to defend the Pula against the enemies from the sea. It is situated at an altitude of 31 meters and was built and furnished in period 1881 to 1886 by the traditional technique with stone blocks. Domes are built of brick and reinforced concrete and trench was made in solid rock. At the same time near was built a battery San Giovanni with which the fortress Verudela made a unique defensive circuit.
In April 2002. the fort Verudela was named cultural asset by the Expert Committee, while in December 2008. by the Law on the Protection and Preservation of Cultural Property fort Verudela entered in the register of protected cultural monuments of Croatia.
