Fort Verudela - Revitalization of the fort
Rooms and garden works were cleaned of accumulated waste and glass. On the ground floor the metal doors were set, as were the windows on the first floor. All later-built partition walls and ceramic tiles were destroyed. Old wooden floors on the first floor rooms have been replaced. All rooms except artillery blocks and the turnover dome, are in functioning as aquarium exhibits. The trench was cleaned up to the stone.
In the long term it is planned to rehabilitate and reconstruct the roof of the dome. A large central tank is planned in the area of the rotating turret. The concept idea of the conversion of fortress Verudela was achieved in International Workshops of fortification architecture held in Verudela in 2006 and 2008.
