Mediterranean Exhibit

Today, the Mediterranean is the largest biodiversity reserve with over 28% of endemic species. At the same time, it is a habitat for 7.5% of animal species and 18% of plant species originating from the eastern part of the Atlantic Ocean. It is a significant habitat of sea turtles, whales, the Mediterranean monk seal, and the Atlantic bluefin tuna. In our aquarium, alongside the more common species, you can also more closely observe thermophilic species such as the greater amberjack, the ornate wrasse, and the pompano, as well as endemic species like the noble pen shell and the Gobius kolombatovici, boreal species like the prawn, the European flounder and the whiting, regional extinct species like the meagre and the sturgeon, and foreign invasive species: the caulerpa, the blue crab, etc
